To Review Past/ Current Requests

The VMware Service Portal enables you to search for and view past and current requests. Past Requests are requests that have been completed or implemented. Current Requests are requests that are open and pending implementation or completion.

You can review current requests on the Home page under Your Requests or review past and current requests via the Review Past/ Current Requests page.

To search for requests, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Review Past/Current Requests menu option. The Review Past/ Current Requests page is displayed.
  2. Select the ownership of the Request for which you are searching using the Search Within radio buttons. Only one option can be selected. The options available are:

·         Selecting Your Requests will instruct the system to search for and return results on requests assigned to you.

·         Selecting Organization Requests will instruct the system to search for and return results on requests assigned to your organization. If you are not linked to an organization, this option will not be displayed.

·         Selecting All Requests will instruct the system to search for and return results on all requests where the permission to view has been enabled for your user role. This could include requests to which other organizations or other users are assigned.

The options available to you to set your search criteria are based on your user profile. For more information, view the topic User Roles.

  1. In the Request No field, type the Request number or Order number. Leave this field blank if you are not searching for a specific request.
  2. Select the request Approval State. Only one option can be selected. The request status can be Open Requests, Closed < 1 Week, Closed < 4 Weeks, or Not Submitted.

·         Selecting Open Requests will search for and return results on requests that are currently open.

·         Selecting Resolved < 1 Week will search for and return results on requests that were completed in the last week.

·         Selecting Resolved < 4 Weeks will search for and return results on all requests that were completed in the last 4 weeks.

·         Selecting the Not Submitted option will search for and display requests for which you have completed or partially completed a submission page, but have not submitted the page yet.

  1. Click Search to view the search results. Your search results are displayed on the Request Summary page. You can view more details about a request by clicking . Selecting a request that has not been submitted will display the Log a Request page with the request details you have specified earlier. You can complete the remaining fields and submit the request.

To return to the Review Past/Current Requests page, click the Back button.

Troubleshooting:
If your search does not return any results, try broadening the search to make it more general. You can do this by searching for All Requests or Organization Requests.

If your search returns too many results, refine your search by providing more information about the request/s for which you are searching
