To View the Forward Schedule of Change

The VMware Service Portal enables you to search for and view requests that have been raised and the scheduled date for implementation. The Forward Schedule of Change is a schedule that contains details of all the past and future requests for change and changes approved for implementation and their proposed implementation dates.

When you navigate to the Forward Schedule of Change page, it displays a calendar with three months with the current month in the center. At the bottom of the page, scheduled requests and change windows for the current month are shown.

The following calendar features are listed in the legend, below the calendar.

To change the lists of requests and change windows found in two lists at the bottom of the page, do one of the following:

In the middle of the Forward Schedule of Change page are search criteria for locating requests. To use the search criteria to locate a request or change window:

  1. Select the ownership status of the request you want to locate. Only one option can be selected. The options available are Your Requests, Organization Requests or All Requests.

·         Selecting Your Requests will instruct the system to search for and return results on requests to which you are assigned.

·         Selecting Organization Requests will instruct the system to search for and return results on requests to which your organization is assigned. If you are not linked to an organization, this option will not be displayed.

·         Selecting All Requests will instruct the system to search for and return results on all requests where the permission to view has been enabled for your user role. This could include requests to which other organizations or other users are assigned.

The options available to you to set your search criteria are based on your user profile. For more information, view the topic User Roles.

  1. Click the down arrow in the Type field and select an Incident type from the list. If a sub-type is defined for the type selected, a list is displayed from which to select. Select a sub-type from the list. Further sub-types may appear if they are defined for the selected sub-type.
  2. From the Priority list, select the priority for your request.
  3. From the Status list, select the status for your request.
  4. In the Service field, type the name of the service for the request you are logging, or click the search button to display the Service Search page.

a.       Select to Search Within your services or all services.

b.       Or, enter a Service reference number or part of a service reference number in the Service Ref field.

c.       Or, select a Service Type from the drop-down list.

d.       Click . Services are displayed in a summary format.

e.       Click to select the service. You are returned to the Log an Request page.

  1. In the Config Item field, type the name of the configuration item for the request you are searching, or click the search button to display the Review Configuration Items page.

a.       Select to Search Within your configuration items or all configuration items.

b.       Or, enter a CI (Configuration Item) reference number or part of the  reference number in the CI Ref field.

c.       Or, select a CI Type from the drop-down list.

d.       Click . Configuration items are displayed in a summary format.

e.       Click to select the configuration item. You are returned to the Forward Schedule of Change page.

  1. Select a CI Type from the drop-down list.
  2. Click Refresh. All requests and change windows that match the search criteria you set are listed.
  3. To display the details on a specific request or change window, click the  next to the desired item from the list.

The details of a selected request are displayed in the Log a request page. The details of a selected change window are displayed in the Change Window Details page.

If there are no requests with implementation dates set for the current month or change windows scheduled, the message “No Matches Found” is displayed.
